Advocacy for Veterans – Joshua Hosler

March 29th, 2021|

Veteran advocacy is a passion for Joshua Hosler. That is why he and his fellow Veteran Anthony Archer founded Veteran Sheepdogs of America.  As disabled Veterans, they both have personal experiences within the VA system and recognized a gap that needed to be filled. Joshua served as an assistant platoon leader and bomb dog handler in the Marines. While he never had plans to enter the political arena, some of the things he saw overseas inspired him to get more involved when he left the Corps. “Seeing what the Afghani people felt after voting for the first time in their [...]

Submarine Sea Stories – Kevin Loewe

March 8th, 2021|

Submarine Veteran Kevin Loewe admits his initial motivation for joining the Navy did not spring from patriotism or high ideals; he just needed a job. But he came to love submarine service, spending most of his 20 active duty career in the "silent service". Kevin served on several submarines including fast attack boats and ballistic missile submarines. On his very first deployment, the relief sub was delayed and they ended up spending 91 days submerged. Weaponizing the Influencers?

March 17th, 2020|

WEAPONIZING THE INFLUENCERS What if I told you I could hamstring the world’s top super power without firing a single shot in anger? We may be seeing the blueprint for just such an action playing out at this moment. I am neither a physician nor a military strategist, but over the years I have developed a hobby of connecting seemingly unrelated dots, playing chess three dimensionally. What if COVID-19 actually stood for “Covert Internet Destruction” and they just mistyped the year? Indulge me in a “what if?”. What if the REAL virus was not the mean, drunk cousin of the [...]

The “Other” Greatest Generation

March 29th, 2019|

When one spends five and a half years interviewing Veterans from World War II through the present wars, common themes emerge; the chaos of war regardless of technology, the resilient comradery of those who fought together and the challenges to the human spirit and mind of processing the horror of war. These are things all Veterans share regardless of their generation. On National Vietnam War Veterans Day I was reminded of my talk with BG Burkett, whose crusade to counter the negative stereotypes of Vietnam Veterans led to the creation of a nation’s first law addressing Stolen Valor.  It struck [...]
