Korean War Hero Royce Williams
On Nov. 18, 1952 Royce Williams found himself in a desperate solo dogfight against six Russian MIG-15's. He shot down four of them. When he landed back on his carrier, 263 holes were found in his plane.Because of the political ramifications, Royce was awarded a Silver Star and told to keep the mission secret..which he did for 50 years. In 2023 his Silver Star was upgraded to the Navy Cross - the second highest award for Valor.
