Joe Sciarra was 16 years old when Pearl Harbor was bombed. He was drafted into the Army immediately out of high school. As a member of the 25th Infantry Division he saw five and  a half months of combat in the jungles of the Philippines and would also serve in the occupying forces in Japan.

The Brandon Act allows service members to seek mental health assistance anytime, anyplace and for any reason outside of their chain of command. It is named after Petty Officer 3rd Class Brandon Caserta who took his own life in 2018. Brandon’s parents Teri and Patrick Caserta join us.
