Greg Drobny served 8 years in the Army including a brief period conducting Psy-Ops. His transition out of the military was a somewhat rocky one until he found something he really enjoyed – Code Platoon helps Veterans, active duty service members and military spouses transition into the workforce by providing technical training and career placement.

While providing ground support for troops in contact, Kim Campbell’s A-10 was rocked by anti-aircraft fire causing the loss of all hydraulics. Rather than bail out over Baghdad, she converted to manual control and nursed her plan back to safety. Kim was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for her actions that day.

During the Korean War, Royce Williams engaged in a solo dogfight against seven Russian pilots. Because the Soviets were not publicly acknowledged as being combatants in the war, the record of the dogfight was scrubbed from all records and Royce was sworn to secrecy. In January 2023 his Silver Star for that action was upgraded to a Navy Cross.

Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technician Aaron Hale was working on an improvised explosive device when it exploded. Every bone in his face was broken, shrapnel barely missed his carotid artery, both his eardrums were blown out and he was left permanently blind. He knows a few things about overcoming adversity and is now helping others live their best lives.
